There never was a star
That shone in midnight sky above
That did not speak the message of
The God of love.
There never was a tree
That leaved and grew
But that it knew
His loving touch in sun and dew.
There never was a dove
That cooed in shadowed forest glade
That did not sound the praises of
The One by Whom all feathered-things are made.
There never was a flower
That bloomed in mottled woodland shade
That did not lift its chaliced heart
Toward Heaven and the better part.
And so, too, man
Is one in God’s all-loving plan!
